Slow Cook Pork Shoulder with Braised Collard Greens
Cooking Instructions:
- Combine all seasoning ingredients and rub on pork shoulder. Let sit for about 1 hour – overnight.
- Place collard greens, onion, vinegar, garlic, and rosemary in a casserole dish.
- Place pork shoulder on top of collard green mixture.
- Set oven to slow cook mode at 200 degrees. Cover casserole dish and place in oven. Cook for 3-6 hours, time will depend on size of pork shoulder.
- Check pork by placing fork into pork shoulder, once the pork starts to pull apart it is done.
- Pull pork and pour cooking liquid over shoulder to serve.
INGREDIENTS:
Pork Shoulder:
- 4-5 lb Pork Shoulder
Seasoning Rub:
- 2 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp chili flake
- 1 tsp clove
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp coriander
Collard Greens:
- 2 lbs collard greens, washed and cut into strips
- 1 small onion - sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 stem of rosemary
